Specialty Camp Overview

The Club is committed to providing an enriching summer camp experience for every youth. Specialty Camps allow youth to participate in specialized programming. This year's themes include Build a Bike, Photography, Cooking, Music Production, Automotives and more! Youth will have the opportunity to discover new interests and talents, make new friends, learn to work and play together, and create life-long memories!

All Clubhouses will be closed

Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm; $375 weekly.

After 3:00 pm, youth participating in Specialty
Camps will transition to Drop-In.

Drop-In is available 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm and is
free of charge.

Drop-In

Come join us at the Lake Hills Clubhouse this summer! Throughout the summer, drop-in begins at 12:00 pm. Youth entering grades 6-12 have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities including technology, recreation, art, music, and more. Drop-In is free of charge and youth must have a current Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue membership to attend.

Session 1: June 24 - June 28

Grades 6-12:   Build a Bike

Register Now

Participants receive a donated bicycle to take apart and rebuild, learning important mechanical skills. They must work together to learn important team-building skills to finish a complete bike overhaul. At the end of the program, participants get to keep the bike. 

 

Session 2: July 1 - July 5 (CLOSED July 4)

Grades 7-12:   Nature Photography

Adventure is out there! Come along and become a photographer with us! Members will go on hikes/walks where we exercise our photography abilities. We will learn about the exposure triangle, photography techniques especially related to framing shots, using manual mode, what lenses and equipment to use in what scenarios, and photography theory. In addition, we will also be getting out and about and getting some physical exercise as well.  

 

Session 3: July 8 - July 12

Grades 7-12:   Cooking Around the World

Stamp your culinary passport as we learn fundamental cooking techniques while exploring the unique flavors and foods of the world!

 

Session 4: July 15 - July 19

Grades 7-12:   Music Production

Turn me up in my headphones! In Music Production camp, members will learn or further develop knowledge of music composition, mixing, and mastering. We will also record vocals and instrumentation, learn playing techniques for keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums as well as work with each other to create a portfolio of our work at camp to show off after. 

 

Session 5: July 22 - July 26

Grades 7-12:   Illustration and Digital art

Create original art and study different artistic styles. Create a portfolio of all your illustrated work to show off. Collaborate with other camp members, develop or further develop your own artistic style, make comic books and storyboards

 

Session 6: July 29 - August 2

Grades 7-12:   Once Upon a Thyme: Cooking Camp

Learn how to make dishes from your favorite films! We’ll explore recipes from a variety of shows/movies including Disney, Studio Ghibli, Harry Potter and more. In the words of Beauty and the Beast, “Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious!”

 

Session 7: August 5 - August 9

Grades 6-12:   Create a Bike

Participants experience the engineering process by designing and prototyping their own pedal-based vehicle through computer-aided modeling then build and test that prototype with a hands-on modular system. Participants will learn the basics of engineering and bike design and work as a team to create their own bike, learning important team-building skills.

 

Session 8: August 12 - August 16

Grades 8-12:   Automotive Fundamentals and Car Culture

Throughout the course, teens will engage in hands-on activities, field trips to car-related events, and guest lectures from industry experts to gain a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and cultural aspects of the automotive world. 

 

Session 9: August 19 - August 23

Grades 7-12:   Video Game Production

Register Now

Create new worlds! In Video Game Production camp members will learn and use different game development software like Microsoft Make code arcade, Construct 3, Unity and Unreal Engine to make their own video games. Members will also learn all the different skillsets and roles that video games require.
